2020 Mid-year Circles and Cycles
Recently I was struck by how the sun’s crowning glory is called its corona… It’s what we can see surrounding the sun at a total solar eclipse – the standout circle. With a corona-virus pandemic circling the globe, life feels similarly eclipsed.
We can’t see planetary alignment coronas without something like a space camera (e.g. Hubble) but we can now see how the earth’s corona shows its glow from photos taken by satellites.
Corona Australis and Corona Borealis
There’s a constellation in the Southern Hemisphere called Corona Australis and one in the Northern Hemisphere named Corona Borealis. Here in Melbourne, in southern hemisphere Australia, all through the greater Melbourne outer suburb regions, we’re in stricter lock-down.
To get perspective, think back to 2000, the turn of the millennium, and also 2005, 2010, 2015 and now 2020, every five year increment. What was going on in the world at each of those decade midpoints and turning points? And in your life?
New Millennium Growing Pain Crisis and Pandemic
Consider also how the world is only in the first 2% of this millennium and going through birthing and infant stages. Just as children need to learn hygiene practices, so too there’s a global change to health and hygiene. There’s much that indicates the world’s in turn-of-the-millennium growing pain crisis.
In 1998, we humans started to profusely surround our globe with satellites in Lower Earth Orbit for telecommunications. Then in 2005, things really started heating up in the creation of devices, Smart tech, wi-fi etc, and added to that, the discovery of a new ‘planet’ called Eris blew our understanding of our solar system’s boundaries.
The boundaries to the solar system; to our lives – forever changed
There was a reshuffling of the solar system as we knew it. For long eons Saturn was once the solar system’s known boundary before telescopes were invented. Then Pluto, until Eris (classified a dwarf planet), opened the doorway to speed the hunt for other solar systems and exoplanets.
Eris is described in mythology as throwing a golden apple into the mix, creating awe, fear and excitement. Simultaneous to the discovery of this apple-throwing archetype, Eris, was the globe-wide outpouring of devices, smart phones, tablets, pods etc.
Major alignment, once every generally 300 to 500 to 700 years
Saturn, original boundary ruler, and Pluto are in Capricorn. Saturn and Pluto aligned in January 2020, this unprecedented year. The last time Saturn and Pluto were conjunct in Capricorn was 502 years ago. Their next time together in Capricorn is over 700 years away.
The first hit of the Saturn and Pluto alignment was actually in April 2019, the month that South Korea and America both got the great global 5G switch-on in motion. Again, the boundaries to life shifted.
Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Yahoo, Samsung, HuaWei etc etc all seem to be part of the ‘golden apple’ of the new 5G era that we’re adapting to, and interestingly a new aurora recently named STEVE, seems to symbolically continue the picture: https://www.nasa.gov/image-feature/the-aurora-named-steve
LEO has changed too!
The ‘circle’ around Earth, the Lower Earth Orbit (LEO), has changed forever, as well as the Medium Earth Orbit (MEO). At last count there are approximately 3,000 activated satellites whizzing above our heads/crowns/coronas, with 10s of thousands more planned to go up throughout 2020. The corona virus has halted some of these planned launches: https://www.pixalytics.com/satellites-orbiting-earth-2020/.
Space agencies internationally are now scrambling to try to work out the safest way to keep LEO and MEO safe: http://theleadsouthaustralia.com.au/industries/space/getting-junk-out-of-space/
September Equinox and the four corners of the turning of the wheel
The images of humanity en-masse in lockdown and wearing masks has the feeling of global surgery. Not only the physical body is adapting, evolving, but also the body electric. And perhaps we’re in a phase of growing a new layer of an aura or new ‘halo’, ‘helmet’, ‘crown’, ‘corona’.
Humanity has been adapting to living the usually external parts of life in lockdown (Capricorn: commerce/ projects/ achievements/ career/ offices/ work highrises) at home (Cancer: family/ neighbours/ relatives/ housing/ shelter). The June solstice in Cancer showed we were still in the thick of it. December solstice will be in Capricorn, another check point in the unfolding state of things, and from 22 December until 20 January 2021 is the Sun’s time in Capricorn.
September Equinox is around the corner (on 22/9) when the Sun moving into Libra gives the next quarterly turn of the four corners of the sky globe – Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.
Mars comes to the fore in its own power sign, Aries
Mars goes Retrograde in Aries on 10 September until Direct again mid-November. Whenever Mars is in its own sign Aries, its power is strengthened, and even though it squares Capricorn, with two of the big planetary heavy-weights in that sign (Saturn and Pluto) we can persist when in lockdown.
Aries is the zodiac sign of charge, drive, motivation and movement. From mid-November when Mars finally turns Direct, Mars in Aries helps forge/pioneer a way out of the corona challenges, but the sense of crisis might not calm until Mars enters much calmer zodiac sign Taurus early January.
- Mars into Aries 28 June 2020
- Mars Retro 10 Sept 2020
- Mars Direct 14 Nov 2020
- Mars leaves Aries 7 January 2021 (and enters Taurus)
Jupiter Direct September, then into Aquarius December
Jupiter in Capricorn has been retrograde since mid-May, and turns Direct in Capricorn on 13 September, helping with motivation, inspiration, optimism and vision for systems of international travel, journeys, holidays and cultural exchange to recover, redefine and reinvent safely and securely.
On 19 December 2020, Jupiter goes into Aquarius, remaining for 12 months (a combination of planet in zodiac sign that’s usually positive, uplifting, renewing) over most of 2021 and works alongside Saturn in Aquarius.
Saturn also into Aquarius December, then Jupiter-Saturn duo
Saturn leaves Capricorn on 17 December and fully enters Aquarius for the next 2.5 years.
Saturn and Jupiter conjunct each other in Aquarius on 22 Dec 2020 starting a new 20-year cycle. Now that mightn’t seem much in the face of the 500 approx year Saturn-Pluto major connection, but really it is, as much refreshes every 20 years when Saturn and Jupiter meet up.
The dawning of the age of Aquarius gets a bit of a boost from those two in that zodiac sign in the twenty years from 2020 to 2040, then in 2040 they next meet in Libra (harmonious fair civil Libra with new laws for new times for a civil planet). Needless to say, Aquarius is a zodiac sign associated with space, technology, futurism and sci-fi. When Pluto moves into Aquarius in 2023 it’s another indication that a new time arrives. Pluto will have been in Capricorn since 2008 and leaves for Aquarius in 2023.
Satellites versus Planets
Could human-made satellite orbits, their circles and cycles and timeshare between the governments, corporations, armies and private commerce that run them usurp the natural cycles of life? The movement of the planets have been on natural autopilot since the solar system first became of interest to humanity, and that’s been traced back to tens of thousands of years BC.
I like to think of the planets as large spherical natural satellites – Saturn certainly looks like one! The interconnected web of cosmic and global energy lines is changing with all that’s being discovered beyond Pluto since Eris opened the door wide in 2005 to our solar system’s boundary. Our Milky Way patch of the universe/ multiverse is adapting.
Astro-Geometry gone Galactic
And even with how huge our Sun is, it’s still humbling to consider that it’s mastered by the Galactic Centre which it revolves around, in the same way that the planets that become part of our solar system (whether stray dwarf planets that make it home, or comets or asteroids or centaurs) revolve around our Sun too.
The images of the planets in their circles and cycles evoke how all nature is made from mathematical proportions. The mystery of how nature cycles self-soul-world in all its myriad parts, the wonder of it, presents itself as we look at how the planets form their astro-geometry.
Like a mystery… everything is there before our eyes, but like a book, do we go only by the cover? Every country is having some kind of catastrophe other than the corona virus/covid-19 pandemic… and as the wheels of the globe turn every country has its season, its cycles, as do we as individuals.
Adjusting and Evolving
And so while in these times astro-geometry meets satellite-geometry meets earth-geometry, the crowns, circles, rings, coronas, halos and eclipses of life are in the process of being reinvented.
There’s climate change, as well as the way the galaxy itself is moving and changing, including the great alignment of the galactic plane to the galactic centre.
Each of us individually, and collectively, has our own ‘wirings’ and ‘offerings’ as we each morph, evolve into the many billion intriguingly unique versions of who we now becoming.
